STRESS-Lace

Hello again! It’s Tuesday, once more, and it’s my turn to write for y’all. Every week I look forward to writing these posts, as I have said before, but everything is starting to get stressful. Have you ever been so stressed out that you just kind of collapse under your own weight? That’s what happens to me quite often. I’m a person that doesn’t deal with stress very well. I am also really bad at pushing things off and then the time comes when that thing HAS to be done and I’ve procrastinated for so long, that I have to rush and it stresses me out. Being a procrastinator and being easily stressed out doesn’t tend to mix well.

The year is coming to an end which means that the first semester of school is ending as well, and you know what that means? Exams. Exams are probably the most stressful thing on the planet. Although I’m only in the eighth grade and what you make on exams and that kind of thing doesn’t count against you later, I still want to do my absolute best. For what I want to do with my life later on, grades are kind of a big deal. Wanting to be a doctor means having good grades in almost everything. Math is important because numbers are heavily involved in the study of medicine. Science is important because if you don’t understand the human body, which is studied in biology/anatomy, you won’t really be able to care for people who have issues concerning the body. That’s just common sense :’D. History is important because knowing the history of medicine and diseases can become important sometime during the time you’re working as a medical professional. Literary and computer skills may even become important. Literary skills would come in handy because if you can’t comprehend what someone is saying or what someone has written down, how are you supposed to be able to help that person? Also, computer skills could come in handy because there’s a lot of paperwork that may need to be typed, and if you can’t type then how are you going to be able to put in the data you’ve collected?

Okay, let me just say that thinking about all of that stresses me out. I have to do well in EVERYTHING school wise. If I don’t, I may not get into a good school. Although I know God holds everything in his hands, I still tend to get worked up about things that are either out of my control or things I shouldn’t even worry about because they’re so far ahead in the future. Matthew 6:34 says,  “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” That verse has started to become my life verse. It’s something that I need to remember each and every day.

Exams are something that really stress me out, as well as many of my peers. To go into a week of school knowing you’re gonna be tested on things you’ve been learning for the past four and a half months and you only have a limited time to finish is probably scary for anyone. Oh and did I forget to mention exams are worth more than tests? Yeah. Stressful, right? Well, I have come up with an idea to help all of us out who are having to take exams in the upcoming weeks, and for anyone who is going through a stressful situation(s).

First, (this is an obvious one :’D) we should just pray. Prayer is a gift given to us that lets us talk directly to the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE! That’s crazy to think about. The God who created everything you can see with your own eyes, even the things you can’t see, we as Christians have a way to directly contact him. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” It’s like having a telephone to heaven. Through talking to God we can lay our burdens and worries down at his feet and he will take them from us and make us new again so we can go on peacefully throughout the rest of our day.

The second idea I’ve come up with to help relieve stress is to put reminders EVERYWHERE! Put a sticky note with a stress relieving bible verse on it to help you remember not to stress, do the same thing on your laptop, put a bible verse like that as your wallpaper on your phone/tablet/laptop, whatever you want to do to help you become less stressed. Stress is something that can slow you down in your everyday life, and that’s not good. Stress can bring you down and we all need to be positive! Thanks for reading what I’ve had to say this week!
