Christian Suit-Lace

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday and welcome back to TGWAM! 🙂 I’m so glad you could be back this week to read my post this Tuesday. Have you ever seen those people that seem like the best Christians out there on Sundays and Wednesdays, but on every other day of the week they’re a completely different person? It’s like they put on their church clothes, a.k.a. their Christian Suit, they walk in the doors of the sanctuary, pretend like they want to be there, and then as soon as they get into their car at 12 o’clock that afternoon they’re yelling and spitting out every word under the sun at their kids about not cleaning their rooms before they left for church, or they turn on that song that they KNOW has that language. So many people act like they love God, they act like they love worshipping Him, and they act like they’re gonna go out and serve Him out of the kindness of their own heart, but they aren’t. If they take off their Christian Suit as soon as they walk out that door then they don’t genuinely love God, so they don’t actually love Him and have a relationship with Him, they don’t actually worship Him with genuine happiness, they don’t serve Him with the love that Jesus gives.

First off, let me explain this Christian Suit thing. A Christian Suit isn’t difficult to comprehend. It’s not just clothes either. People put on their “church clothes”, they put that fake smile on their face, and they act like their lives are perfect and they go to church acting like they really love God and then they forget about everything they’ve been taught once they walk out the doors of the church and take the Christian Suit off. Some people that put on these Christian Suits even act like they enjoy worshipping God and that they need Him and want Him, but no one EVER sees the evidence outside of that sanctuary. Some people just tend to put on their Christian Suit on Sundays, Wednesdays, and they even put in the effort to put them on when they go to other special church events. It’s crazy to see people be able to switch from “Good Christian Mode” to “Who’s God Again?” I know we all have these people in our lives. Whether they’re friends, family, or someone you don’t even know, it isn’t hard to pick out the people who wear their Christian Suits on “church days” and to pick out the people who know Jesus and have that genuine love for Him.

Now, some of you may be kind of upset right now. You’re thinking, “Well of course those people love God! What are you talking about?” They may say that they love God, but when they turn around just like that and forget who He really even is, do they TRULY love Him? No, they don’t. They’re lukewarm in their faith. “So because you are lukewarm -neither hot nor cold- I will spit you out of My mouth.” Revelation 3:16 They want to be able to be a Christian on the days they choose and when they want to do what they want they take the Christian Suit off. Being a Christian IS a job, but it isn’t a job that allows sick days. Now, we are all human and we WILL mess up. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying we’re perfect. BUT our job as Christians is to strive to be like Jesus, who lived without sin, and to ask for forgiveness when we do mess up. Wearing our Christian Suit to church on Sundays and Wednesdays, but taking it off when we want to isn’t an option. When we do that we confuse people and turn them away from our faith. That isn’t fair to them. They deserve what we’re privileged to have. A loving God who saved us from sin and death.

Thank you once again for coming back to TGWAM. I know today’s topic was a little heavy, but I hope you ponder on it. I know I will. As some of you may know, our youth group’s Disciple Now Weekend is coming up. Please be in prayer for all of the small group leaders, youth, and everyone else involved as this wonderful weekend is coming closer and closer. Thank you again! I hope you all have a great day! ❤

XOXO,
Lace ❤
